Greenwood SD 50
On November 1, 2010 I will be delivering a keynote presentation for roughly 600 teachers in Greenwood, SC for Greenwood SD 50. I’m very excited to be presenting at their Student Engagement conference.
I am looking at student engagement through a new lens lately. I often wonder if we don’t set engagement up as a bit of an idol. Is engagement synonymous with technology? Does the use of technology equate with engagement? What happens when the novelty wears off? Technology is not universally engaging.
I intend to dig deeper in the time I have with the teachers. I hope to ask as many questions as answer and explore some of the cognitive aspects of engagement. I am looking forward to hanging out with Greenwood SD 50!

Hey Chris
I am thrilled you’ll be a part of our engagement conference. I have been one of your blog readers for sometime, have tweeted with you at times and have attended some of your sessions at the Upstate Tech conference for several summers. I know whatever you do will be thought provoking and very engaging for the 600+ teachers attending. Looking forward to Nov, 1.
Hi Leslie!
Thanks for commenting here! I am thrilled to have been asked to come present and am really looking forward to it. I hope it will be a useful time for all of us.
See you on November 1!
Chris
