Denver Public Schools
Denver Public Schools recently contracted with Palmetto Learning to develop an online course. The course is designed to teach professional educators new strategies to help students for whom English is a second language.
Specifically, the course centered around one strategy, the use of non-linguistic representations. My job was to introduce the topic and find interesting technology tools that are useful for this tool. Each of the sections of the course are linked to NETS standards, and it includes a project-based culminating “assessment”. I put quotes there because it will be up to the course facilitator to determine how to use it.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Denver Public Schools and hope to continue to collaborate with these fine educators.
